Peter Ostrin - Chief Executive Officer, Founder

Peter is a founder of GraphTech, having led the Silicon Graphics’ R&D team in Israel.  Peter began his career with Texas Instruments and from there he joined Silicon Graphics, where he managed the Design and Verification Tools team for the advanced graphics division.  As Director of Engineering, he then managed the Advanced Graphics Software team working on transparent middleware.  In 2000, Peter opened SGI’s new engineering office in Israel, which became the key development site for graphics software.

Peter holds a BSc and an MSc (Suma Cum Laude) in Computer Science from Rice University, Houston, Texas.

Yochai Shefi-Simchon - Vice President of Engineering, Founder

Yochai’s experience in computer graphics started with his work in the Human Factors Engineering group in the Israeli Air Force. He led the design and development of human-machine interfaces for several systems.  After leaving the Air Force in 2000, he joined the Silicon Graphics software team in Israel, where he assumed the Technical Lead position on OpenGL Vizserver.   In his next role as Software Engineering Manager, Yochai was responsible for a team of engineers around the world; working on SGI’s advanced graphics initiatives.

Jacky Romano - Vice President of Business Development, Founder

Beginning with his work on the F4E simulator for the Israeli Air Force, Jacky has a long career in graphics software development. That experience includes seismic processing at Paradigm Geophysical and CAD at Geometria Systems, where he was a founder.  He then moved to Silicon Graphics, becoming deeply involved in optimizing and tuning applications for developers, especially in the media and medical markets.  In 2000, Jacky moved to the Engineering group at SGI, where he was instrumental in the development of OpenGL Vizserver.  Post-SGI, Jacky moved back to the simulation market, working for Elbit Systems in their Training & Simulation Group as a Technical Manager of some of the flight simulator programs. 
 

Alon Barnea - Strategic Consultant

Alon is finishing a successful 2+ year period as Graphtech's CEO. As part of handing the company management to his replacement, Alon currently serves as a full time strategic consultant. Alon is a seasoned Cellular, Video and Computer industry professional, and joined the GraphTech management team as CEO in January 2008. He previously served as General Manager of the Mobile & Service Provider Business Unit at RADVISION , a leading provider of video conferencing and converged video solutions.  In Alon's previous role as VP Marketing & Business Development and Product Management at Starhome, he played a key role in its becoming one of the world's leading providers of mobile roaming technology and VAS solutions. Earlier in his career, Alon was part of SGI's EMEA senior management team and Managing Director of the SGI subsidiary in Israel.

Alon holds B.Sc. and M.Sc. (Cum Laude) degrees in Industrial Engineering and Management from the Tel Aviv University and serves as a board member of a number of organizations including, the Israeli Mobile and Communication association (IMA) and "Shiluvim" the alumni of the Tel Aviv university Faculty of Engineering .
